The Coathanga Strangla graces the cover of the latest issue of Murder Dog Magazine.

Murder Dog interviews Brotha Lynch Hung and goes deep into the genre of ripgut, the Coathanga Strangla album trilogy and what inspires him to make his music.

On the subject of where he gets his crazy ideas, Brotha Lynch Hung says

Dreams could be it, but I honestly don’t know where it comes from. Once I do drop a song they get mixed. Sometimes I get high enough that I drop outside of my body and listen to myself. That’s what makes me ask myself where does it come from. I really don’t know. It just comes to me. Other people have asked me that and I don’t know the answer. I took care of myself ever since I was 17 and got kicked out of the house, but I took care of myself.

We’re glad to see that Brotha Lynch Hung’s tendencies to maim, murder and eat his victims in song form isn’t going unnoticed.

The good people over at Complex Magazine complied their list of the 25 Most Violent Rap Songs and the Coathanga Strangla himself made it with the song “Meat Cleaver” from Mannibalector placing at number five.

Complex writes:

Brotha Lynch Hung’s Mannibalector album is the greatest thing to happen to the Cannibal Rap genre since Gangsta N.I.P. first hit the scene. No surprise that “Meat Cleaver” details cutting up potential meals, cooking body parts in Crisco, eating brains, and “sticking dick in a corpse.” Unlike the majority of this list, this song was released this year, indicating that horrorcore rap will never die as long as there are warm bodies to dismember.

It’s not often that we get to see the making of a cannibalistic serial killer, but it’s coming.

Brotha Lynch Hung recently threw up this video teaser to an upcoming behind the scenes documentary simply titled The Making of Mannibalector.

This humorous clip shows Lynch and engineer Rob Rebeck shooting the breeze before Lynch creeps in the booth to record the hook to Krocadil.

We can only imagine how the rest of the real documentary will play out, but it certainly looks promising.

In an interview given to The Source, producer WillPower (Tech N9ne’s “Delusional”, Yelawolf, and much more) expressed interest in working with none other than the King of Ripgut, Brotha Lynch Hung.

So far, have you done anything with Brotha Lynch Hung?

No, but I would love to. I’m a fan of his work; he’s got a really dark vibe. He’s kinda weird; I”d definitely get down with that. Strange Music is a really good label. I like a lot of the stuff over there.

Leave it to Lynch to say something that make you go “WTF?!”

Whether on records or interviews, it’s a pretty common occurrence with Brotha Lynch Hung.

Here in this interview with the legendary Archivest, we learn that Lynch is definitely having the most interesting meet and greet experiences during the Independent Powerhouse Tour, as one fan brought a finger for him to sign (no word on whether the finger was real or not).

The interview also has Lynch breaking down some of his classic material like Season of Da Siccness, which we learn that he produced, engineered and mastered all by himself.

Brotha Lynch Hung might be 14 albums deep in the game, but don’t let that fool you, his skill on the microphone is as sharp as ever.

In an interview given with The Phoenix New Times, Lynch affirms that despite being a hip hop veteran, he’s got the drive that he did when he was an up-and-coming Sacramento emcee. One of the ways he can tell that he’s still got what it takes to make a huge dent in this game is the new fans he’s garnered while being at Strange Music.

Lynch says:

The new fans that Strange gave me, it lets me know that I still have it. These kids could easily not know my older stuff and think I’m brand new. They’re showing me I still got it.

“Meat Cleaver” is the first Lynch video from the Coathanga Strangla trilogy not to follow the storyline that was set by Colostomy Bag and has been in place ever since, resulting in a straightforward performance video unlike any we’ve seen from Lynch for quite some time.

“Krocadil” carries on the storyline of The Coathanga Strangla to its stunning conclusion, and features the production value and gloss that are the hallmarks of a Liquid 9 music video.

Recently Lynch sat down with one of the most influential Hip Hop publications to ever exist, The Source, to talk about his new album, his fears, and much more!

In the exclusive interview, Lynch details his plans in the rap game and explains just why he’s not finished yet and how he stays motivated.

The Ripgut General also shares that he’s got four completed screenplays, and that he hopes to have one of them directed by Rob Zombie one day.

After a lengthy hiatus from Strange Music tours, fans will finally see the return of Brotha Lynch Hung this spring as he joins the Snake and Bat on the road for Tech N9ne’s Independent Powerhouse Tour 2013.

The tour, which kicks off in Tulsa, OK on March 15th, will also feature live performances from Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Rittz, and CES Cru.

Lynch recently dropped into the Strange Music Podcast for a live interview and with the tour almost here, we got the Sac-town legend’s thoughts on hitting the road again:

I’ma be happy to see the fans again. Like I always say, when you do a Tech N9ne tour or a Strange Music tour, you’re never worried about having small shows. They’re always having big shows. You never worry about the crowd.

I don’t wanna reveal too much because I’m still working, but I’m definitely going to be going on stage either close to Tech N9ne or just before Tech N9ne so I’m definitely going to try and hype stuff up before he goes on stage. You already know, he’s the king of the stage as far as underground, to me. Definitely gotta do something special.

I’ma give it to these fans because I haven’t seen them in a while. I wanna see the reactions to the new album. I’m doing some songs from the new album and I want to see the reactions. I see tweets and all that stuff, but I wanna see it live. And getting around the U.S. I hardly ever get around the U.S. Hopefully we hit some other spots that I didn’t hit on the Strange Days Tour.
